Concept art

My old drawing pad is no longer compatible with my computer so I've resorted to drawing with a computer mouse in photoshop. Here are some samples of the work I've drawn in the past few days.

Do you love dragons?

Hey guys, so I just recently started a new project in Blender. For those that don't know, Blender is an animation program where people can sculpt models, animate them, and create short films. I've been working on sculpting a dragon in there for some time and since the mesh I am using is having problems I'm not going to animate it but instead turn it into one of the characters from my book and create a picture in Photoshop.  This is the model I've been working on (see below).

The Dragon City, Sintra

Sintra is the capital of the dragon world. The trees are lofty and the plants giant. There, the dragons from all races (Earth, Water and Fire) come together and unite as one group. Sintra is a mysterious and magical place. Dragons live inside the enormous trees, orbs of light float silently around the city, and Earth dragons harmonize with the foliage to create pathways between the trees.

Fire King

This is a poem that I wrote after watching the sunrise one morning in the woods.

Fire King
By: Grace Forciea

The colors die as the sun rises
higher in the air
a trumpet fanfare for a Fire King
a ring of reds and oranges
dancing in the winter crisp
bit by the beauty bug
shrugging off cloaks of golden silk
and Ruby blood pulsing through wild veins
rushing to the brain
a pin prick of pain
as we strain to touch the power of the sun
wishing to be one with the sky
lifted feet off the grey ground
floating with pink clouds around the world
handing sunrises to solemn people
and announcing the arrival of
new beginnings to a new day
And at night when the light
dwindles and fades
the gasp of infinity will fill the atmosphere
and a glance upward into the darkness
will take you away to a place where
sunrises are announced with the bringing of life
to replace the hues of fanfare.

Tree homes in "Dalith and The Council of Dragons"

The dragons in "Dalith and The Council of Dragons" (See synopsis below in previous post) live in large trees mostly within a town or the capital Sintra. Some dragons live in caves but the practice of living in caves is considered outdated in the dragon kingdom. Many dragon families can live in one tree. The dragons aren't small. The trees are just huge.
I drew a picture of an abandoned tree home that Dalith takes refuge in several years after leaving the dragon kingdom.
Here's how large the tree is in comparison to a human.

Dalith and The Council of Dragons Synopsis

On an Earth ruled by intelligent and wise dragons lives a human named Dalith. Dalith grew up as a dragon and never saw himself as anything but normal. He had a family, a home in one of the many large trees in the dragon city, Sintra, and even an education. But one day everything changed. Upon the discovery of a set of mysterious words hidden in a cave he found while out playing with his sister, he discovers that he is more than the typical dragon. He can transform into a creature unknown to the dragons. The dragons are frightened when they discover that Dalith is the only one in their race that can use the words to turn into the fleshy creature known as a human. When the dragon race refuses to lend him support in a time of need an evil begins to form in his heart. In this epic novel, the reader is taken on a journey through the dragon world through Dalith's corrupt views. Dalith ran away long ago from the dragon kingdom and had since been plotting revenge against the leaders of the dragon race, The Council, for banishing him from their world. He will discover that he has yet to unlock more of his powers that can be used to tear the dragon race a part and quench his thirst for dragon blood.
